Hi, The TOC automatically generated by lyx is very helpful. But it will not include the unnumbered chapter, or section. I used BOOK class in my thesis, but there is no such 'abstract', 'acknowledgements' 'appendix' 'user guide' formats in it. So I use unnumbered chapter (Chapter* ) to title these
