Calibre actually can be used if you confine yourself to command line programs
in Terminal. It ships with several rather nice scripts, including
ebook-convert to do command line conversions. As far as GUI programs, I can
recommend Stanza. It will convert between most popular formats.
I'm getting lots of "unknowns". Is there any other e-book management software
that converts formats, etc.?

mac101. It isn't made specifically for learning with Voieover, but will give
you a good beginning understanding of the switch from
