Suggestions for audio editing software on the Mac. Is Amadeus Pro still the best?

Hello, I may have posted before about this but I can’t find the question, or the answers. So after a friend mentioned a different program that has simply refused to install at all. I think I’m going to just buy the upgrade license for Amadeus Pro. Good suggestion or thought in this case? Or is
