I answered this on the Braille Users list. The important thing here is
understanding what to do when the notification pops up on the Braille Note. One
has to click a routing key and then click yes and finally accept in order to
tell the BrailleNote Touch it is OK to connect to the Mac.

it still doesn't work. It still says Voiceover failed to load bluetooth driver
for braillenote. It is possible to use a serail to USB adapter to connect the

A little follow up on the issue with my Brailliant. Apparently at some
point the device class that the Brailliant/Super Vario reports via
bluetooth changed from a computer to a generic device class (OS X
calls it unknown but the bluetooth specs call it any, as in generic)
