All Vertical Mapper 2.6 users,
Northwood is currently working towards solving the problem with crashes
related to exiting Vertical Mapper 2.6 and/or MapInfo. As far as we can
tell the program operates fine until either program is terminated. We
believe it may be limited to users running Windows
Trevor,
It is curious that GridView can only be launched from Explorer and not from
the Grid Manager. Can you provide me with some more details such as any
error messages?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say you are overlaying the

Thanks for the response.
One more question, is it possible to access Vertical mapper's functions
through Mapbasic?
Regardless of the above question, I imagine that I'll be able to

Ian,
The black screen you have encountered with GridView normally occurs when

Unfortunately the Voronoi utility in Vertical Mapper does not allow you to

The 3D module in Vertical Mapper currently does not allow you to place 3D
objects in the scene however Virtual Frontier will.

crimestat (available thru crime mapping research center). The program
generates ascii grids that are readable by both arcview and vertical
mapper.

Mappers,
If anyone has hints about the opposite opperation, getting from Arc Grid
files to MI/Vertical Mapper I'd like to hear about it. I've tried
converting the ArcGrid to ASCII Grid but VM chokes. The good folks at
Northwood Geo have been trying to figure out why but after months no
success. A

Have you considered using Vertical Mapper to contour the slope grid. Try
producing region contours at 0, 15 , 20 degrees etc. That should give you
MI regions for each slope range, directly from VM.
