Hi All,
I am looking at programming my own plug-in for MapInfo as a project at
university.
I have looked inside the MrSid dll and the ER Mapper dll's and have not
found any generic format.
This leaves me to question, How does MapInfo call the dll's??
For example, with the MrSid plug-in: The

I'm sure there is a good reason, but why doesn't
everyone change from a mailing list to a web based

People wouldn't be recieving ANY e-mail. No

A better solution is to send a fake "undeliverable"
For all of those mapinfo users frustrated by the Universal Translator (UT) utility not

Hello all,
Has anyone seen, developed, heard of etc. a grid that matches that of the 'Thomas
Guide Grid'
by Thomas guide maps.
Or would anyone have ideas on developing a grid that matches the existing Thomas guide

I do not have information about the current digital grid, but here is info
that I developed in the early 1990's just when they were creating the digital
maps (in the san francisco bay area). Prior to the mid-1990's (exact date
unknown), all thomas brother maps were on hand created bases.
Are there any translators out there that will convert Spans VEC/VEH files to MI
format?
TIA,
Dan

Quite true, Managing text labels in MI is very clumsy.
What I do is to create a separate layer for the text things. Depending on
the final scale the map is to be printed , I adjust the text size. This
means if I two standard scales ie 20K and 50K I keep two layers with

Hi,
Does anyone know how to access the parameters that Mapinfo have used
for the Lambert Conformal Conic (modified for Belgium 1972) projection
(Number 19 in their list of projections)? Or for that matter any of the

Thanks,
Simon
