Hi All
I am having difficulty printing a large raster image from MI. The process
works OK on a Win 98 PC but I am trying it from a Win NT Workstation. The
process seems to grab more and more of the workstation's memory and then
finally gives up and MI closes down.
When I say large the raster
Anna,
If you think of a ladder in a pair of tights they normally run lengthways
down the leg. Visualising this (steady lads) the ladder will be a long scar
in the material so think of longitude as a ladder in tights (or do I not get
out enough?)!
On the point of Port or Starboard, Port is on
I finally received the light (red, green?) when I realized that in England
you steer on the right side because you drive on the left. England indeed
has a very deep maritime past and will not budge until they realize that all
the images they got from the Viking boats were in fact mirrored images
We've got a big poster on the wall in our office which says:
Longitude = X coordinate = east / west position
Latitude = Y coordinate = north / south position
Read it at least once a week for four years and by the end you should be
able to remember which is which (most of the time)!
As for Port

Dear List
I have some custom symbols that I would like to save in Custom
symbols directory in mapinfo so that when I want to use it as a
symbol I can. I have managed to save them as bitmap but when I try
to insert them from the folder Custom Symbols, they are not
available. The symbols I have

Port and starboard - I just remember it, just like left and right.
Perhaps it is due to too many hours messing around in boats as a
child...

Hello all,
I have workspaces - say workspace 1 - 150 - and would like to print them
off one after each other without manually closing each workspace down and
reopening the next in sequence. Does anybody know of some MapBasic code that
will replicate the print command for MapInfo. I do have a

To create custom symbols make sure that your symbol is has 256k

I've heard of a way to remember Port Starboard (for me).
Starboard derives from a Scandinavian word for steering board.
Most people are right-handed, so tend to steer or row on the right side
of their bodies.
Imagine yourself rowing with one paddle. Which side is it

Best regards,
I was taught this a while back...Assuming the world is a perfect ellipse with
the longer access running north to south longitudes are all of equal length
(if you stretch them out into a straight line), while latitiudes will decrease
in length as you move away from the equator. Therefore

Hey Listers,
I went back to my past workspaces and found out that the projection of the
streetname text objects layer has to be in Lat/Long in order to prevent the
text from increasing in size.
Where it is only text objects and not geographic Object, the projection
differences are not an issue.

A summary:
* Longitudes are of equal length, while latitiudes decrease in length as
you move away from the equator.
Therefore LONGitudes are LONGer than latitudes.
* With LONGitude, the lines are the same
How about the fact that with LONGitude, the lines are the same LENGTH?
And as some others, I always remember that there may be some Red Port left
in the bottle
