Hi All
Does anyone have our there any experience of using Access(97) as an
automation controller for MapInfo?
I would like to re-parent a map window to appear inside a control on an
access form, but I cannot find a suitable form control to use as a place
holder. The control must have an hWnd
We have two polygons in separate layers which overlap. We need to run a
query on point data contained in a non-overlapping area of one of the
polygons but cannot select this area as a separate section. The area is
formed by part of the boundary of one polygon and part of the boundary of

Hello experts,
I have a table of point data representing rock sample sites. The
geological trend (strike) of the area is NE -SW. I wish to buffer the
points but to have the buffers elongated parallel to the geological trend
(strike).
I am thinking of generating a pair of points for each
Hi Mark,
Go to the SQL Select form and build the following query:
-start--
Select columns: *
from tables:Accidents
where condition:obj within any(select obj from Wards where =
Name=3DBuckinghamshire)
-end
You can
Hi
you must get the hwnd through an api call. Set focus on your control -
which must be an empty sub-form, then get its hwnd through an api call
.in the set application statment turn the variable into a
string..something like this.
Dim fHwnd As Long 'variable for window
Mmmm, I was just about to post a question about this, but to answer your question, you
can use a sub-form control to display your map. Access assigns a Hwnd to
the subform at run time so you can call a function like the one below to get its Hwnd.
The function is called form load.

Hi Listers,
I have a dialog with two radio button controls. Each has it's own =
ID_NUM. I would like to NOT allow both radio buttons to have values =

would like to check the second and reset the value in the second group =
Hello Laurence,
I don't think you can have nothing selected with a radio group control -
therefore, the value 0 is invalid. If the second radio group is not
applicable, based on the first groups selection, consider disabling the
control instead.

Hello Stephen,
The problem with you query is due to operator precedence. The not is
applying just to the obj and not the whole expression. A couple of brackets
will fix your problem but, as others has stated, performance can be a real
issue with large tables.
Select * from points where not (obj
I have installed Mapinfo 6.0 on a number of different new PC:s running
windows 2000. They are very fast machines (P4 + 512 Mb memmory, large and
fast harddisks)and all other programs (including ArcView and ArcInfo) runs
very fast.
But in Mapinfo it could take up to 30 seconds to open a new map
Hi all.
Has anyone had any problems with text disappearing from plots from an HP800 PS
plotter? MapInfo Pro v6.0 is being used and the plots are being sent from the layout
window.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi!
I want to display multiple line labels in a rectangular, opaque
frame. I didn't find such an option in MI 6.0. Framing the text
with the frame option in the text style window looks ugly, as it
frames every line for itself and not the whole label with a
rectangular background frame. I also

Well,
I'm not blind. MapInfo/MapBasic does not make provisions for Thematic maps
that are already on the map. There were two proposed solutions for my
problem:
1) Save a workspace and then sift through the lines of code until I come
across the appropriate Shade statement. [Jerry McCahan]

Hello Richard,
A simple answer, but not the one you want to hear. MapInfo's TAB files do
not support NULL values (which is what I understood as missing from your
message).

Hi,
I have been involved with the implementation of SpatialWare and SQL server
7.0 with Queensland Rail. So far, all things considered, we have been
unsuccessful in integrating the two applications together. We have had
major problems with just the simplest things that we didn't get to test

The way I do this is by making sure that the text that should be replaced
