Wiflred,
Export the AutoCAD table to MIF, change the CoordSys clause in the *.MIF
file to CoordSys Earth Projection 1, 0 (without quotes) and import it
back to MapInfo.
Hope this helps,

Claude,
It's a bit tricky to use but Jacques Paris has a program called
IndiValuThematics in the beta testing section of his website which does
exactly what you need:

To use the program you will first have to set the date on your

I'm doing this with the new MapXtreme and ASP.NET, and I'm sure it would be
possible with VB.NET or even C#.NET or other windows programming .NET

Thank you for mentioning that application. My first reading of Claude's

thematic, also available on the site).
I have changed the date stamp to end of 2004 on the zip available for

Hi All,
Is there a way to update a column with random numbers that fall within a
certain range? I would like to update 500+ records with a value between
5 and 150. Is this possible? TIA

Updating the column with:
5 + (rnd(1) * 145) should give you a random number between 5 and 150

Thanks to those who responded, now just one more question to help the
mathematically challenged such as myself..
How can I make sure the random value assigned is evenly divisible by 5?
For example the range of value between 5 and 150 will only be 5, 10, 15,
20 , 25.etc
Thanks

Please disregard that question I am an idiot. I will just generate
random numbers between 1 and 15 and then multiply by 5. Sorry for the

Robert,
The official word is that MapInfo will have a MapBasic Interpreter of
