Maybe I didn't make my point clearly. This is a problem with the 3D
modeling, I don't make any claims one way or another regarding the
behavior of the 2D model.
I did run the modified code in both 2D and 3D, on two different
machines. The results were identical, machine to machine. They were

I had the same problem, but in my case I was able to change my scale
factor to a=1, which makes the meep calculations scaleable using the
calculated factors in the units conversion wiki.

Meep can be confusing sometimes. In this case, remember that meep is
case sensitive. The two commands, Set! and set! are not the same, Set!
doesn't work. See line two of your control file.

Yes, that seems to work. Where did I get the idea that it was
meep-all_wait instead of

Dear Steven and Meep users,
I am making truncated cone resonance cavities. I have been living with a
strange appearance of the cones which has now became a presentation
problem. It doesn't seem to affect the cavity resonance but it looks bad
when the image from Meep is projected on a slide.

meters which is also the RF wavelength (directly implying a lattice size
