The HHR is a very solid little car. The basic Ecotec 2.2L 4 banger delivers
140hp compared to the optional 2.4L 172hp model. My parents' '06 HHR LT2
seems to be built well. It doesn't have quite the rear seat leg room that
their '01 PT Cruiser had, but the support and firmness of the rear sea
because you have to floor it all the time
to keep from being embarrassed at a stoplight by a Volkswagen 412?
It would shift very firmly too! I've been awefully tempted by that 'SD.

Yes, we used a laser temp sensor. It showed there were no problems with the
actual temp of the engine, just the gauge.

1)You probably have an air bubble, and if your thermometer does not
agree with the gauge, your gauge may be off. Air Bubble: park car

If the water is from Mexico, my experience would lead me to believe
the 0.3% content. Since I don't react the same way to water in

On the subject of diesel timing: If you are replacing the pump or
rebuilding the engine, the simplest and most accurate way of setting the
pump is:
Disconnect the fuel line going into the pump from the filter

To adjust this, you really need to have the factory service manual. A
quick check would be to have your lovely assistant hold the accel. pedal
firmly to the floor while you watch the linkage to make sure that it
goes all the way to the stop on the injection pump.

Use two wrenches. One to stabilize the fitting in the radiator and one
to turn the nut. Best thing to do is position the wrenches so that the
nut loosens when you squeeze the wrenches towards each other. While doing
this, watch the line to make sure it isn't trying to turn with the nut.

Alex,
Do what Mitch said for the AT lines - 2 wrenches are mandatory - don;t
forget you will have to remove & replace the oil cooler as well. It's very
easy to damage the connections for the oil lines - 2 wrenches are also
necessary and hard to work with in the small space.

Invest in a set of good quality flare nut wrenches.
Best money you'll ever spend when it comes to removing
and installing lines of any sort.

lines - probably a quart, maybe more. I would
definitely have a drain pan handy.

No oil cooler on the 300e (W124 chassis) attached to the radiator.
If there is one, it's separate -- the one for the diesel is in the
left fender, in front of the left front tire.

spots on both sides of the windshield. Utterly without character.
