I tried mixing up the recipe using Mobil 1 ATF - it would not mix at all
with the acetone. Does any other ATF mix with acetone?

Yes, change both hoses. Unfortunately, too often the oil cooler threads are
damaged when the hoses are removed, so be as careful as you can, but don't be
surprised if you need to replace the oil cooler.
Research the repair, there are tips and tricks to maximize the odds of success.
