Onan used to have hand cranks on units up to 100kW years ago. I can
recall one very large gas generator set with a huge six cylinder
Continental engine on it that had a hand crank. I can't imagine what
it would take to turn the thing over by hand.

The day after I bought the pickup the wire to the high pressure switch broke.
I'd noticed it was frayed so I'd fixed it, but I made it too short and the
beeper went off on Angie. Fortunately (well sort of) she gets on it quick so
she was maybe 200 yards from the house. I fixed it for real

Nahh, I just wanted to get it swapped at that point. It appeared to be the
original alternator (not bad for 266k!) and I was afraid I might break the
plastic tabs that hold the back cover on. Didn't want to goober up my core...
