How would a bad transmission prevent you from starting the engine to see
if it is bad or not?

I used to see that all the time when I worked/lived in Indiana. An
“Englishman” would drive all the Amish carpenters to the job site to do the
interior trim and cabinet work. Usually the driver just sat around all day from
what I saw.
I used to sell them industrial engines. There was a big

Decide exactly what you want, and have Kaleb keep his eyes open for it,

To clarify:
The Mannheim auto auction, probably the largest in the US, started in Mannheim
PA, hence the name. They expanded across the country and have a number of
regional auction sites.
It used to be that once a month they had a “high line” auction that was nothing
but high line cars,

There has to be a lot of trust involved before a dealer lets you buy in his
name.
I'm registered with AuctionAccess, so any dealer could name me as his agent,
but I don't know any who would.

They had lists pre-Internet days, too, only they were written. Thing is, they
were rarely complete, so it was always best to go out for the review time to
look over everything on the lot. That’s one of the things I did with the
‘vette guy, as he would have a list of cars he was looking for,
Take away from the incident:
1. Nothing converts a rabid anti gun individual as quickly as actually
needing to defend yourself.and having nothing to defend with.
2. Train at the range, often... Double tap, on target, count your shots
with each discharge.
3. Know the law in your jurisdiction
Haven't been to that Summerville auction in years, but it was fun. Mostly
junk, the ricer cars would get a lot of attention at the bottom end of the
price range.
There used to be another auction here in town, Thursday nights I think. First
time I went there was a silver 123 wagon that went

I used to know a guy that was a high line car broker that also owned a little

Oh God.
I just gave Kaleb an idea that will put another three cars a week into Okie
Acres to Rust In Peace.

Occasionally I see ads for guys who will function as your agent to
purchase a car for some flat fee, you see something you like, he buys
it, you buy it from him for some markup agreed on. That would probably
be the way to go.

Has anyone made friends with a car dealer and had them make you an agent or
whatever, to purchase cars at auction? Is it even possible? I am so tired of
dealing with private sellers that think their vehicle is made of gold, and
curbstoners that are slimier that a buy here, pay here lot.

It’s really hard to say. I see them advertised for that kind of money but don’t

A story with a happy ending, although it might have been better if the
