I just took in a 1988 chevy/GMC suburban that is the first year GM used
electronic throttle body injectors. Prior to 1988 carburetors. The TBI
injectors are triggered by a timing trigger that is part of the
distributor, and an arcane almost computer controls
143k is not high miles.
I'm not sure if 8k is high price these days.
You hear of people paying $5k for 2005 Accords.

a while, if they are opened and closed, they leak slightly. I have gone

Any time I replace a water heater, a set of copper fittings along with a ball
valve replace the cheap plastic drain valve the manufacturer supplied.
It gets flushed annually (or more) and by using a full flow ball valve a lot of
the cruft gets flushed out easily - and quickly!
