As another poster mentioned, I have had good luck with a Whirlpool Duet washer.
There were several models to choose from, and I went with the German made one
that had a more robust bearing setup. It failed with an error message once, and
the error message actually pointed to a defective switch.

I had a W126 that the PO apparently had reused the caliper mounting bolts
rather than using new, and failed to use any Loctite. Result was the bolt
backed out! That sure caused a clunk.
