That is how I did the protection for #1 Daughter's house. Where one sheet of plywood would not cover the window or sliding door, I used a 2x4 or 2 across the joint on the outside as a hurricane brace. The cover for one small window was made of cutoff scrap, so it has 2 2x4 braces. Overkill
