I think JD is running 3000 psi (constant pressure, variable flow) for a
few decades. In the 70s they used 2000 or 2500 PSI CP. My IH Liftall I
always thought was 1000 psi, but some documents say 800 PSI. It really
does not matter because it is constant flow, variable pressure, so it

Thanks Max! BTW, your note reminded me that I need to look in the Black
Tech Data Book to see what they say about pumps - I always forget to
look at that til I am half way through my repair! It's a great little
book - I wonder if they are still available? Do you have one?
I'm glad to hear t

Larry, in the FSM procedure 46-0002 is the survey of power steering pumps
for 124 cars.
Your turbo OM602 should have either Vickers or ZF pump with a red label for
opening pressure of 110 +/- 5 bar (green label on a used pump will not be
the same spec, so I'd avoid those).
Other MB cars with the
I think Vickers and ZF were both OEM suppliers? I swapped the PSP off
the donor 420SEL onto the 560SEC and they look the same but had
different tags on them (or on one, the tag was missing but it was
clearly in a different place/size). I'm pretty sure one was Vickers and
one was ZF. I tried
Thanks Craig,
I looked at the A1Cardone and it it not available (for my 91 300D) and
it may be a while before it is available.
So I am back to the used pumps offered.
1 Question - is there any difference between the Vickers and ZF pumps?
I "assume" they are manufactured to identical MB spec

Thanks Max,
I'll see what I can find. I have ABS but no ASD or SLS so hopefully
that will normalize the search a bit. I started looking yesterday but
haven't found anything yet. The ads are either so vague that I can not
be sure the part will fit or so precise that I am sure it will /not

Yes, that's what it looks like to me, too.
I'm in a similar situation, with a power steering pump

Larry,
That looks to me like a complete break of a tab on the body of the pump, so
you'd need to replace the entire pump. A used pump would probably be a
good bet. If your pump is a single circuit and not a dual circuit like a
car with SLS or ASD, then they are pretty common. I suspect that jus
