Ha ha, I dug up mature grape vines and replanted them because my new neighbor doesn't want them and I do. Good exercise, I just hope they survive well enough to make it worth the efforts. I'll be pulling and re-setting posts tomorrow and hope to finish the job on Sunday, total of 38 vines

People around here make wine from muscadines, it tastes like paint stripper. I have wild ones growing all over but they don't make much in the way of grapes. People do grow 2 or 3 kinds of domesticated muscadines that taste pretty good to eat but they have really thick tough skins. Scuppernon

in the deep south, Muscadine grapes grow wild in many places - when ripe you could smell them from far off. I can see how wine would taste pretty bad but we have made jelly with them that came out close to Concord Grape Jelly but not as quite as sweet of course. Still pretty good though.
