I’ve left my gun in the car at the PO, never thought about the property aspect.
I’m sure there are a lot of criminals around here.
I’m not sure what having a weapon in the PO would do for you, at ours it is
hard to see any signs of life from the “workers” there anyway.

So the loophole seems to be mailing a firearm. Maybe get together the
paperwork and box with your home address on it, unload and stuff the weapon
in the box, carry it all to / from the PO as needed. If challenged, "Hey I
was thinking about mailing this weapon, but I changed my mind.".

I picked up my Garand at the PO. Clinton's administration mailed it to me.
That's the only exception I know of. The Law is an Ass.

There's federal law, and there's federal regulations which contradict federal
law b
As I recall, it is illegal for ordinary citizens to carry firearms on post
office property. Ambiguous signs are no excuse.

I always thought the PO sticker concerning weapons was ambiguous. It
sounded like they were "banned except for lawful purposes". IMO, me
having a CCW permits gives me legal rights to carry on USPS grounds,
unless I go in to stick up the place, or am I reading that wrong?

Postal regulations passed by bureaucrats carry the weight of federal law. If
you go to a post office without street parking, you're unarmed for the entire
trip or you're a federal felon, because guns are banned on all USPS property,
including parking lots. I suppose you could just leave your gun
The whole point is not having to deal with the PO, the local is totally
useless, some Soviet-style bureaucracy starting before you even walk in
the door. NO CONCEALED WEAPONS ALLOWED. WAIT IN LINE UNTIL CALLED.
STAND BEHIND LINE UNTIL CALLED. DO NOT PLACE ITEMS ON COUNTER. And
