Well, I finally got a chance to feel around under the hood of the 300SD
today and found the tranny control cable (passenger's side of throttle
linkage arrangement). While turning the housing adjustment inward to loosen
the cable as some suggested, I think I broke the end that threads into the
Is he in some sort of time warp?
**I will accept the best cash offer I get for the engine by the end of last
week.**
Seriously, what's going on, and WHY would he have gotten the engine back? I
would have thought that Mercedes would want to rip it apart to analyze it.
This is assuming that he

The mice have finally recruited a driver! yee haww! Now,
you've gotta get them to talk so that they can tell you exactly which wires,
according to the diagram, that they've chewed through!
I hope that you can get past this challenge and make this one function
properly.

Darn, I was afraid of that! I think I'm going to try to do it the
Catheyesque way and get the broken piece cut apart, taken off the cable and
get the 2 or 3 inches of threads that are still left to go into the
adjuster. I need some good luck!

That rearrangement of the throttle rods you did yesterday was
nothing short of amazing.
I wish he was closer to ME so that he could fiddle around with my '83 300SD!
What was out of whack on yours?

he wanted a shortbox 3/4 ton diesel and GM does not make such a thing.
If you're talking about standard cab pickups, I don't know if I've seen a
short box 3/4 ton of any make. I know that there are plenty of 3/4 ton Ford
and Dodge diesels out there in club cab and crew cab configurations.

Hi, Dan.
I've got zip ties on a couple of the seat motor cables in my 300SD, and all
is well! I was getting a bit worried about a couple that were slipping, and
as you said, bending the cable slightly in such a way that it puts pressure
toward the gear mechanism will restore seat function. Th

Oregon's weather is just as "wacky!" It was in the mid 90's all weekend,

I just got the oil changed on my '07 Dodge ram 2500 Cummins Diesel yesterday
for $69.95. I would hope that I can extend the interval for the next oil
change out to at least 5-6Kmi. The service sticker only gives me 3K (not
sure if warranty would be void if I let it go longer). It's going on a
2 gallon oil changes in the
Powerstroke.
My 6.9L IDI required 10 qts, the '94 and '97 PSD's required 12/14 qts, and
the '99 PSD required 15 qts. I'm not sure what the 6.0L PSD's require, but
the 6.7L Cummins is somewhere around 12 qts. What's the oil capacity of the
D-Max?
