In fairness to Mark Lucas, the externals don't work in MC and HC; they
work very well in SuperCard, for which they were written.

I apologize for the tone -- it is a result of spending weeks trying to
print from MetaCard, using several different techniques, none of which
worked successfully and all of which were way too much trouble for what

Let me chime in to say that I would have liked better printing
capabilities on several occasions. I did try the Report Generator some
time ago, but frankly, I couldn't figure out how to make it work, and
for my particular need, I was able to solve the problem another way,
although not without quit

Actually, it need not be an external. As Tuviah reminded us in his
posts, one of the cool things about MC is that one can easily reuse
complex native MC objects:
