I'm pretty sure you can update any LDAP server using the JMSAdmin tool. You just need
to add the URL to the JMSAdmin config file. You could theoretically use a triggered Q
to invoke this in Batch mode.
Not sure if that helps or not.

Well it seems that DR recovery procedures are a manual method by the

A good architectural solution would be to capture the MSGID when you put the
message to the XMIT queue and transmit that in the alternate method. Leave
the messages on the XMIT queue and let them go through. Let the receiver
then determine what are dups and what are not. You probably already have

Would something like this work?
echo 'dis chl(*) chltype(SDR)' | runmqsc MQIDEV1 | perl -nle 'next unless
/CHANNEL\(([^)]+)\)/; print RESET $1'
Modify as needed to reset RCVR channels.

IBM has just changed the licensing model for WMQ 5.3 - it's now based on the

Hi all,
As the subject says, I'm trying to install WMQI 2.1 onto AIX 4.3.3.
Unfortunately it keeps telling me that Java 1.3.0.10 is a missing requisite,
despite the fact that I have both Java 1.1.8 and Java 1.3.1.0 installed.
Has anyone installed WMQI 2.1 with Java 1.3.1?
Cheers,

Before I waste my time and write on. Does anybody have a script that will
do
a RESET on all the server channels on a particular box
It can be .sh .ksh or .pl
bobbee,
I assume you don't want to do this too often. You can do this with my MO71.
Display the channel list, click on the channel

If you use saveqmgr to backup your queue manager, then you can specify that you
also want to include reset channel commands in the script. (-R switch)

Perhaps you should wait until every body gets back from the Conference.
That is a good idea. I forgot about that. I have to include that in my
commands that run the QMGRSAVE. But the script I needed was after they
restored the box from backup tape. Running the runmqsc with the SAVEQMGR
output would probably not hurt but I didn't want anymore going on that

If you want to be able to do this, your SCSQLINK library has to be LPA, not
Linklist. IBM does document their recommendation that this library now be
in the LPA rather than linklist. It might have made it clearer though if
they changed the name of the library to SCSQLPA.

You could be getting data locks ( resource locking ) that is not allowing certain
records from being extracted in order. We had a problem like this and it was a
timing problem in a database.
One question:
What is the dead letter queues process?

you'll need at least patch level 9 or 10 for AIX 4.3.3. I had no trouble

There have been many past discussions on message order and how MQ preserves it only
under a fairly strict set of conditions. The best practice is not to rely on messages
being delivered in the same order they were sent. I'd advise your programmer to use
message grouping (if it's available on

Ok. Now the picture is getting more clear. We corrected our problem by delaying the

Hi, One of the systems I support is at MQ version 1.2, OS/390 2.7.0, using
the CA IP stack and IUCV. After a recent IPL any sender channels that were
using DNS names instead of direct IP address would not connect/run. Once
the DNS names were changed to direct IP addresses they connected and ran
For MQ to always deliver messages in the same sequence they were sent, one of the
restrictions is that you not have a DLQ.
