This difference between using a 40 mb table and 4mb table with the same
traffic was a 70 server load versus a .9 server load. So it was the amount
of data that I was selecting that was choking this feature.

I left the
tmp_table_size 128M
added the line
max_heap_table_size 500M
But to no avale. Still limited in the number to 12.7M
I am using 4.1.8 as installed by Cpanel.

Heap/Memory tables that is the phrase I couldn't remember. The data is
stored in the file system.
I have one file that that is linked to via JavaScript to run a php file and
send an output. That file accesses MySql OR if I am overloaded it bypasses
my local system and goes directly to Findwhat.
Actually no. I have a file that is determined to be requested by mysql (Top
100 site) What I am wanting to do is put the images and or files into Ram
to serve them from there instead of the harddrive and conserve hd resources
for "not known" tasks.
