"Win" modems are usually NOT compatible with Linux (or any other nonMS OS for
that matter) :-(
Absolutely - unless the situations changed and someone has written some
Linux drivers, the modem relies on Windows to take on some of the
functionality of the modem.
The answer to the question has therefore always been - no, it won't work -
