The left Alt key works fine but the right Alt key is ignored.
It is like the system doesn't recgonize it as a shifting key.

Anybody knows a good tutorial for Mandrake Linux or Linux in general?
The Linux Documentation Project is a good place to start.

I would suggest you start with the guides. Here is a good one.
Introduction to Linux A Hands on Guide

Has anyone here tried installing Mandrake 10 on a Dell C400 laptop, or a
similar Dell laptop? I'm considering giving it a try, but as my efforts
to install a *NIX variant on my laptop in the past have always failed, I
thought I'd ask first :)

I can't get MDK10 to do a full install. I've used these discs before
without issue. It starts to install correctly. However, after
partitioning (I've tried this on two HDs with the same result), it starts
to install the files. During this copying

How to format install Mdk10oe on JFFS2?
I would like to put Mdk10 on a small (100MB) IDE flash drive but JFFS2 is
not listed as one of the standard options. How can I format the drive as

I was thinking to along these lines:
1. Install Mdk in ram disk
2. Use
Option to select eth0 during install?
Mdk10oe selects the wrong ethernet driver during installation. I

It works but then there are a lot of other

That's probably not corruption. You are just
experiencing one difference between
