Dave,
I thought since TCP/IP was being used for the internet connection on
both PC's (with 2 different IP addresses and subnets) that I couldn't use
TCP/IP to network them together too.
I guess I need to do some more reading on what samba can do. I went out
and bought a book today so I'm
Hi,
You didn't mention it in your message, but did you modify your
XF86Config and XF86Config-4 files by replacing "nv" with "nvidia"? Based on
the output of lsmod it looks like X is still loading the old nv driver and
not the new one.
Also I have the 0.9-6 drivers working in 7.2 with the
Leo,
This is the link I used to get mine going.

This is the RPM I used to get my Opti ISA sound card to work.

Good luck

Hi,
To speed up seti in Windoze you have to change the setting on the
screen saver to blank out the screen. I think it's in the advanced
settings. All that graph drawing the screen saver uses up tons of
resources.
Even with that Mandrake 7.0 is about 2 hours quicker (16 vs. 18)
Dan,
You may want to use a GUI on top of Seti go to:

and you'll find some nice accessories. Good luck

If you do not like that graphical version, there are several others at:

Peronally I like Ksetiwatch, it provides a lot of statistics on the
units you've processed.
I've been running it for about 11 month's and I've completed 238 units
Hi,
I am running Mandrake 7.0 and originally had a SiS 6326 PCI card in
when I installed Mandrake. About a month ago I exchanged the card with
a Creative Labs VooDoo Banshee. Before I changed cards I downloaded the
latest Linux drivers from Creative, untarred them in a temporary
Andrew,
I never had any luck getting the X seti to work properly.
If you are looking for a graphical interpretation of seti there are a
bunch. Check the below out, you'll probably find something you'll like.

Corrado,
Have you tried Everybuddy? It works with AOL IM, Yahoo, MSN and ICQ.
You can get it at www.everybuddy.com
I've had it for a while and it's great.

Adriaan,
I didn't have any luck when I created the .xinitrc file so what I did
was created a link to /user/X11R6/bin/imwheel in my Autostart folder on
my desktop.
But before it would work as user I had to give users permission to read
and write to /tmp/imwheel.pid
I then
Bambi,
I had the same problem and I used the -f /usr/share/games/doom/DOOM.WAD
option to get my Ultimate Doom working. You may want to try that too. Good
luck!

Michael,
I'm running a Celeron 333 O/C to 417 with 96 megs of RAM and an 8 meg
SiS 6326 video card and both Doom and Quake 2 work pretty good. I can't use
the OpenGL version because my card isn't supported, but it more than does
the job.
With what you listed below you should do great.
e
lxdoom -f /usr/share/games/doom/DOOM.WAD
I think I understood you correctly.
If moving it to the /usr/share/games/doom directory
doesn't work .. I will try that.
Thanks,
Bambi

OK, so I couldn't answer his main problem, but at least I could handle
the PS!

Ronald,
When you execute doom use "-1" or "-2" options, this will make
the .kde.lnk to realplay.
However, I think I should have used Mime type.kdelnk. Do you know the
exact command? I have installed the Real Player rpm as 'root', and I
would like to add a link to my /home/roman/Desktop. The manual is not
very clear about this.
Thanks,

Roman,
I had the same problem and I fixed it by deleting all the offending
entries in the /home/[user name]/.kde/share/applink and /home/[user

restarts to get rid of all the buggers but it works fine now.

Roman,
I have @home also and the password mail is looking for is the one you
gave @home when you first set up the account. I windoze, Outlook or
whatever you are using is asks for it once and then saves it. I know
Netscape will do the same thing after you enter it the first time.
Thanks,

And it worked for me. I hope this helps.

CD-RW is at the bottom. I'll let you know what happens.
