But I use Quanta, or Vi. Quanta is pretty handy. I used that to start
out with since I'd forgotten a lot of my HTML. Now that it's refreshed
my memory I've gone back to vi, or vim.
Quanta is installed standard.

I used to use UltraEdit myself, but on Linux I use nedit. It does syntax

I have not looked into that, or a default HTML editor. I have once found
and downloaded
rom ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/MandrakeCooker

I installed Coffecup, and I like the interface, which resembles Homesite
in some ways. However, unless you purchase, most of the goodies are
disabled, so I can't comment on that. Are you having problems with the
install. It's been a while, but I don't recall any.

You can also get it from www.tucows.com (and find a mirror near you and so

Does Mandrake 7 include a default HTML editor (not including Netsape)?
then, has anyone had any luck installing CoffeeCup
(http://www.coffeecup.com) on Mandrake?

I like Bluefish. It reminds me of Homesite. CoffeeCup is pretty
good too. I suggest you download both and just see which one you like the best.
I'd have to say I still like Homesite more than either of them, but they do a
decent job of being a good HTML editor.

IglooFTP is nice. As for editing HTML, you might try Netscape's
built-in editor (if you want WYSIWYG).

the first HTML editor I ever used on Suns at college!
I recommend it to Steve who said he was starting out with HTML, and it

You could try AsWedit (free for non-commercial use) or Webmaker, a KDE

I just use either of the two text editors that come with kde. Of
course, I have to type in all the code. But I am just learning, so it's
necessary that I do it this way.
