Assuming you are using KDE do the following:
- Clean up and delete any driver-related files you have right now in your home
dir (except the tarball)
- Click on the home directory icon on your taskbar
- Right-click on the driver tarball file
- Select Archiver
- This will open Archiver. Click on

First, you must be certain...your modem is NOT a winmodem...or a PCI
modemthen, make sure you have linux seeing it on the right port.
try using all the com ports under linux...ie ttyS0,ttyS1, etc.
also try /dev/modem at the top...
what modem is it?
