Partition magic is the best program to do what your
trying to do. I don't know for sure about the one that came with
linux. In order to get linux on D: not to mount the partitions on C:, you
can run 'linuxconf : File systems : access local drives' and then get rid of the
two partitions
Yes, it is very safe.

for one, I dn't know if you typed this the first time, but in your rc.local
it should be /dev/ttyS2 instead of dev/ttyS2. Also, I forgot to mention
that also in your isapnp.conf file you have to un-comment a line near the

Your modem may still be able to be on com 2. Since this is plug and play,
it doesn't HAVE to be on thhe same port as it is in windows. As long as
com2 is open(and the irq associated with it), you can configure it to be on
com2 in your iaspnp.conf file.

Help!! I deleted the files in /tmp(thinking they were only temporary files).
Now I can't get into blackbox, cant run simple commands like (xv, setroot,
imwheel, root, and many other).
Can someone tell me what I did and how I can fix it, please?!
For all you with pnp modem problems, this is how I got my usr 56k internal
ISA modem to work pnp:
1.Type "/sbin/pnpdump /etc/isapnp.conf" ##this loads info on your
ISA PnP board(s) into the appropriate .conf file.
2.Type "/sbin/isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf" ##this makes your existing
ISA
therefore, if you reboot perhaps the
necessary
files will be recreated.

You may be doing this already, but for non pnp devices, it's usually good
to run "add new hardware" from control pannel.

type "lilo -u /dev/hda1"
This will remove lilo and restore your boot sector to what is was
previously(as far as I know because I've tried it after having this
problem). I forget exactly where it backs it up and the file name, but it
does and this works great.
