Hi,
I had this problem and tried this solution. Many things came back, even if they were
moved around a little. But there is still a really important one missing, Configure
your computer.
How do I get this one back? Or how can I access it from a console?
Thanks in advance,
Fifner

my acer monitor broke down and I replaced it with a viewsonic one. The change was not
automaticly detected and mandrake 9.1 still thinks there is an acer.
Can I have linux autodetect the monitor just like it does when I do a fresh install.
Or can I manually set what monitor is used?

Hi,
I took my cd player off the computer and started linux without it. After that I put
the cd player back and restarted linux and the cd was not there. In konqueror it just
says 0 Items - 0 Files - 0 Directories.
When trying to install software it asks for the cd3 but just spits them out.
I got write permission for all now. But then it is not mounted anymore. When I mount
it again I can no longer write to it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Alright, here is what I have:
a Dell GX1P with a Crystal Audio CS4232 sound card, on the board
It finds the driver but it can't load OPL3. It says YM3812 and OPL-3
driver, OPL3 not detected ff. I run sndconfig and the first test comes back
good, I can hear the wav, the midi gives me an error,
Beats me, I did something the otherday and it changed my mounting so the

can load it manually, everything is hap-hazardly working...I'll have to do a
better job, but for the time being, its working ok.

I was wondering what would be the best freeware FTP and firewall setup.
Would I need a program or any executable or would it be better to just
modify things directly? I know FTP needs a daemon and the firewall could
just use the IPTABLES. What is the best.
Thats what I thought. Now I just have to find out how to get inetd to work
