I can't take this particular step. My assumption from this is that there is
a bug in Mandrake 8.0 that they ought to fix with an update somewhere down
the line. Can anyone confirm or deny my assumption?
Thx,

Skip, no offence, but it's not up to you what goes in the headers and
what doesn't, if you're following the RFC rules. Regardless, your
reason for offering what should and shouldn't be done has proven in
the past as a bad solution. The choice to choose what should
you to easily edit headers, get a mail user agent that works
well with editors like Emacs or vi. I happen to use VM, a standard package
bundled with Emacs and XEmacs, but I'm sure there are others that provide
similar features.

I am not running named, but I have fast connections to the net. It
may be that named isn't started by default in Mandrake.

You might also take a look at the iwconfig command if you're not familiar
with it. I suspect you can make all the necessary settings with it, but I
have no experience with it.

Alan SkipYou asked who carries the boxed sets. I said that LSL
Alan would have the Macmillan 8.0 boxed sets as soon as they are
Alan available. They are not yet available. What is available in the
Alan 8.0 release is the GPL CD's and that's what costs $3.78. Be

Does Mandrake 8.0 support any wireless networking (802.11b) cards out of the
box? If not, are there drivers available on the net to support any cards?

I just upgraded from Mandrake 7.1 to 8.0 a few days ago. I notice that when
the system is otherwise idle a process calling itself kapm-idled runs,
consuming 75-80% of the CPU. Top shows its size as 0. What is it?
Thanks,
