Thanks guys, I know there's support here. I'll just take my time -
and report back. (I changed the oil & filter last weekend - put in
Mobil 1 4T Syn 10w40 - I believe that I felt or maybe even heard some
difference)

I've just pulled my UNI air filter out & blown off the dust the last 3-years/15K-miles I'll have to give it a treatment. I'm a long-time fan of Honda's & Beetles.(pictured is my fleet @George AFB Ca. 83') I saw the 1st NH's in the 80's & loved them.25-yrs later I have one. -Bernie Frank On 07/

Wow! What a clean bike. I like the cafe looking bars and bar end
mirrors. Don't know how comfortable it would be on a long ride but it
looks cool
What is that thing on the back wheel? It's very strange looking and I
can't imagine what it would do for you?

Keep in mind that this will not make it feel like a sport bike. But if you are
familiar with your bike you will notice it improves mid range roll on power.
Also it alleviated the 4K RPM flat spot my bike had.

Eric some time ago I was also like that and actually I got Allen to do the
washer mod to my bike while I watched because I was too afraid to screw
something up. After he didn't I felt a bit stupid seen how simple it was. I

Thanks much for the bonus hints - and giving me some of the confidence
I need to do this. Off to Radio Shack this afternoon to get the

Yes it is simple. First take off the seat, then remove the rear tank bolt.
Slide the tank back past the tops of the carbs, you may have to disconnect the
vacuum line on the petcock. Then get a phillips screw driver and remove the
caps on top of the carbs (work on one carb at a time and be carefu
That is true. If you get one then get the recharge kit (cleaner and oil), it
has enough of both to last years.

Allen -
This might sound 'stupid' but it's not - it's real. I'm happy to put
in the time to learn (more) all about my bike, but I've never even
taken my tank off (yet). I've had my NH750 for about 3 months now and
learning more every day. I've read and re-read the Carb Washer Mod
instructions/p
I'm told (and read) that Uni's were mean to be reusable - cleaned and
re-oiled.

If you want to stay with the branded stuff - Uni sells just the oil or
a combo oil and cleaner kit. You can get both/all on Amazon also.

You are right, because apparently he also cut off the black plastic in the
rear where the license plate goes. I don't understand why people
compulsively cut those things out. I like the original look.

Excessively too clean! nice bike. I see a couple of weird things. What have
you done to the bars? are those the original ones just rotated, or you got
new ones? Also, I would like to see a closer picture of your mirrors.
Finally, what is that metal thing on your rear wheel?

So Allen, do you think we can re-use our Uni filters at least a couple of
times by cleaning and re-oiling it? I got mine more than a year ago
already...

Just a couple -- and I've heard of these -- not used them. I'm
planning to swap frames, not the engine, but the procedures are pretty
much the same.
The bolts on some of the engine mounts are of differing lengths. Best
way to know which is which on reassembly is to draw a sketch of the
