Bought my bike and just want to do a few minor cosmetic things to
it...keeping it stock. Hopefully a new (stock) paint job this winter.
Anybody have any leads on the side Emblem for a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 750.
It's the emblem for the side coverSee picture. Mine is a black
bike...not that
*NOTE: its the actual Nighthawk 750 emblem, not the decal. *

*Thanks in advance!!

printed on large format paper or a plotter.

It's been a month since I had the Nighthawk out so I figured I'd take her to
work. It was a little chilly this morning so I figured it would be tough being
her going. After about 30 seconds of cranking the starter speed turning it over
I figured the battery was low. I was able to bump start it
Maybe not bad yet! This sounds like the battery needs to charge. When the bikes
sit at idle, the alternator isn't charging, it is running off the battery. So
when you had it warming up, it was draining the battery. Put a charger on it or
drive it around for a while and you should be better.

Another thought - buy one of these:

On my 750 I just ran some extra speaker cable with an inline fuse to the
handlebar, and put a waterproof cigarette lighter plug on the end. I routed the
wires along with the main harness.

If it is not a sealed battery you might want to check the acid level. I got
about 1 year extra on battery that was just low on acid, by refilling it
with distilled water.

I have the same ride. At idle, 850 rpm it will be 12.4-12.6V. If I'm over
2500 rpm, I'll get 14V. It been like this since I bough the bike in 2005.
I had a dead battery last month after stopping for gas. Fortunaltey it was

Ill look at that when I get the seat off. Right now its at my work and tools
are somewhat limited here. I'm not a mechanic by trade...

If you were going to do that - you could get a small trailer that already
meets regulations and simply mount the pickup toolbox to it. Probably less
engineering involved - although you would probably want to put a swivel
hitch on the trailer to allow the bike to lean.
Just a thought.
You know - if you got the proper trailer and a swivel hitch - I bet you
could pull your boat with that Wing :-)

Rick, last time I did it I took the tank off and ran the cables along the
frame column just under the tank. I found that was the safest option,
otherwise you are risking having cables hanging one way or another.

Last time I rode the CB700s I ran the tank down, did switch to reserve. Today
I figure I'll go for a ride on her, and she started then after a warm up she
didn't feel right and then throttle hang. Couldn't even get it to the gas

If the battery was that low then it is doubtful it will revive with adding
water. You have to keep an eye on wet cell batteries when on a charger as they
will boil off the acid. I hope you got an AGM, they are so much nicer.
