I SUCKED ON THE VACUUM LINE AND THE DIAPHRAGM OPENED AND FUEL FLOWED.!!
I repeated the process after I reinstalled tank and she sprung to life!!
No oil leak,no running like crap!! I took her for a ride and she has horsepower
since I covered holes in mufflers.

I am in a heck of a pickle and I hope that you guys can help me get out of it.
Last summer I began to do some much needed repairs on my 83 nh650. I
successfully changed the valve cover gasket,took the carbs off,and had a
bladder/diaphragm changed that was bad and had them thoroughl

One more question. Is the firing order off the coil critical or does it not
matter. I was smart enough to number each plug wire before I removed the
coil,but I suspect the previous owner might have screwed up based on the

Success, I got the cover and top of motor spotless,the cover was easy,the
engine took three days to get gasket off,and the spray on gasket remover helped
a lot as well as razor.

are four bushings in the shape of a crescent on both sides of the 83 cb650sc I
own. What are they called?

I would also check your starter. I when the battery is low,the starter will
make a buzzing noise. Check your other electrical as the other guys told you.
Above all be patient and persistent.

The 1983 cb650sc is ready for winter work!
So I have a few questions I hope you can answer.
1) Can the airbox be removed from the frame with the engine in place?
2) Can the mufflers be removed from the exhaust system,or are they permanently
attached. I have some holes in the mufflers
Silicone??? Elaborate please. I was going to use locate aviation gasket
sealant,would that be too much. Do you have any pics of silicone?

Hey guys and gals,success! I completed motorcycle license process and got my
license in October 16. I drove the bike on my permit and kept her running. Man
what a kewl bike. Anyhow,it's repair time and I need replace valve cover gasket.
I need a couple of bits of info.
A) what size is the Allen

I will try your suggestions. To further clarify,my filter has a housing with
fins all over it,behind it is the oil cooler engine fitting which has two hoses
that go to oil cooler. The two parts are joined together and to the engine with
a single bolt with holes in it. Although I think oil cooler

Okay,the part is called the oil cooler engine fitting.
Question,thier are metal fins on the top of the fitting and metal fins on the
crankcase where it attaches, do I tilt the fitting to go between the fins,or
press up against them before tightening?

The flange I am referring to is right behind oil filter housing. They both
attach together with a bolt with holes in it and in turn attach to crankcase.

I just did my first oil change on my 83 NH 650sc. I am having a problem getting
the oil cooler flange to reseal. I an certain that the oring was part of

Okay. I think the smc burned out my rebuit mitsuba sm 8 12v starter. I found
one that is for another bike and I believe I can swap out the end covers. Is
that possible?

okay kyle. i got the starter apart. ( it is a mitsuba sm-8 12) and i
cleaned her all up. now i got a prob. There is plastic retainer that fits
in the main housing. unfortunately the part with the one of the brush kits
attached has melted into it. an new plastic retainer did not come with
rebuild ki
