Ah yeah, I missed that nice ability of having an inbound port 25 at home. Back, way back, when Telocity was around, you could get a home DSL line, static IP, not a single blocked port, and I had a personal domain and hosted dns and ran my own email server and did precisely that. Very entertaining.

You can put a user limit on a share - only that many connections will be allowed. So put (or install) the application on the connection-limited share. Then write a script that's publicly available to map the share, start the application, and when the application finishes, disconnect the share.
