[nysbirds-l] Cattle Egret influx

2021-11-02 Thread Andrew Block
There seems to be a Cattle Egret influx into the northeast with reports of good numbers of them from Maine to at least NJ.  Never heard of so many being seen around here.  It's like I'm in Florida:-) Andrew Andrew v. F. Block Consulting Naturalist 20 Hancock Avenue, Apt. 3 Yonkers, Westchester

Re: [nysbirds-l] Marshlands Conservancy in Rye (Westchester Co): odd "egret" on 8/21

Hi Phil, Sure is one!  Nice.  There was one in CT last year or the year before that eventually died and is now in the Yale museum.  Hope this one survives better.  By the way this list is actually for the whole state, hence NYS birds, so definitely the place to report this.  For some reason

Has anyone narrowed down the meadowlark from Croton Pt. Park last February that was with the redpolls, sparrows, etc. along the path to ssp.?  From my photos it sure looks like argutula from the southeast.  Just wondering.   Andrew Andrew v. F. Block Consulting Naturalist 20 Hancock Avenue, Apt.
