arrived at the permit only parking lot around 7:30 and stayed until around 8:30

Amy and I observed and digiscoped the Mew Gull this morning from 10:45 to 11 am
on the grass very near the Foot-path (first on West side and then briefly on
the East side) that crosses over the Parkway. Our photos are at the link below.

I drove up from PA today and was treated to some great looks at the NORTHERN
WHEATEAR (Photos) which was hanging out on the dirt piles in the Airport
parking lot around noon. Feel free to check out the photos but for Pete's Sake
if you have already seen Mark Szantyr's gorgeous (as always!) phot
As has been reported, the Swallow-tailed Kite (Photos) in the Wallkill NWR
(just across the NY/NJ border in near Sussex, NJ) continued Sunday putting on
an excellent show for the many birders who came out. My thanks to all those who
recommended that Amy and I walk all the way down to the lower
