Not really an 'OpenSolaris/Solaris' question. Also, you may want to consolidate
down to an Oracle/Solaris 10 architecture - removing MySql /SyBase overhead
maintenance.

Bug reports were made to be more specific in those GCC-related libs and

his is where you get to see the
difference in how a server performs when you are running a web app versus a
database app requiring computational performance.
The SPARC64-VIIIfx addresses the needs from the multi-core computational side
while the UltraSPARC-T2+/KT addresses a balance of multi-core computational and
highly-scalable multi-threading needs.
The question is now if Sun's 'engines' will compete well with the
high-computational engine products like the Itanium-2 or IBM Cell/POWER 7??
Can these new CPUs provide around 800-1,000 double-precision petaFlops in a

w deals with the crossroad of using the ATI open source driver
versus focusing on the ATI fglrx driver. The closed source drivers dropped
support for anything below the ATI Radeon HD 2xxx cards a few years ago. The
ATI open source driver is not ready for full 3D programming

I expect this to change by Nov 2009 - but the workaround is to use Nvidia-based
