I've set up my usual scheme for installing over NFS, which is to
loop-mount the 5 CD-isos and export those mount-points for NFS.
However, with beta1, I'm not getting very far:

Is anyone else doing installs over NFS?

I know it's a bit OT, but as a factory user I'm kind of wondering which
packages to use for optimal multimedia experience on OpenSUSE factory. And
yes, I'm within the legal boundaries of the country where I live ;).
I'd rather use only the factory packages, as all the usual suspects (Guru,

From looking at your yast log, you're getting an input/output error,

the iso is corrupt
Yep, they verify fine:

Hi all,
just installed Beta 1 onto my Notebook and almost everything was working
fine except X.org. My notebook runs a ATI X 1600 Mobility and while this

none of the X1x00-Chips are supported) Sax2 chooses VESA Framebuffer

You don't mention the size of the memory for the VM session. I have seen
SuSE try to use the swap partition, if there is not enough memory during
installation, and this can cause the symptoms seen in the first try.
As for the screen issues, I am not sure of the capibilties of the

IMO, if you want to use a stable system with mp3 support and all that
stuff, use a stable release.
If you want to contribute by testing Factory and/or alpha/beta releases,
please do so, but you don't need mp3 support to do that.
But hey, that's my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong :)
