and view the file dbstart. Here you will find the locaton of you

Unless, the init.ora uses ifile option and the file pointed to by ifile
contains all the parameters. In that case you can query v$parameter view to
see what ifile points to.
By default Oracle looks for it in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory.

Ask your SA to check unix level parameters for unix kernal are OK.
You may get those current parameters by using command 'sysdef' and
check with your platform specific oracle installation guide param suggested
in that.

I would go for creating a separate table for coverage , to make design more
flexible. If you add 10 cols in vehicle table and and a new coverage is
added later you will have to alter your table.
Still you think performance and space you can cluster the two tables .
