I've implemented a very similar solution recently for BEA-based application.
Two database servers, Multi-master replication between two databases, 1
minute propagation interval. Works great on our hardware, which was designed
for the purpose and is pretty fast. Small transactions - OLTP stu

I'd suggest you continue to question the consultants about the choice of AR
as a failover solution.
If you're running at least 8.1.7, standby is normally a better choic

decision to take. Remember that when you switch from the main machine to
its spare, you also jump from an architecture in which you have two
machines in synch (more or less), to a single-machine architecture. This

Has anyone taken the OCP 9i SQL Exam (1Z0-007) via on-line and
used Couchman's book as a study guide? If so, what was your success and
how would you rate this book as being useful?

Unix to pc, best to use ftp. I always run from pc, i.e. no need to run ftp server on
pc. You could always run samba on your unix server. If its only a few dirs I use the
following 2 files. Run the ftpbackup.bat file.
1) ftpbackup.bat

Anyone who has a good example on a unix script, which does the following:
Copies files from a unix directory. to the hard drive, for instance from the
directory /konto/test
to the hard drive C:\temp
Would appreciate this if you could help me with this.

Here is a quick question which often bothers me
I have a schema A, B and C
All three have integrity constraints referring to each other like,
Schema A has some child tables whose parent tables are in schema B
Schema B has some child tables w
That's the DBA job for me only 56 days a year ;-)
