generate an spfile from a pfile with
the 'log_archive_dest_11' option set - says it is invalid.
I've posted to the metalink forums, but no reponse yet. If anyone dealt

our servers out every 3-5 years, so I routinely keep my systems up to
date in anticipation of server changes - especially OS changes since
they happen a couple of times over the life of a server.

Check the RMAN docs; the process for doing this is well described there.
Basically, you either use a parameter in the init file (when you can do
wildcard path changes) or use set commands in the rman recover script.
