Hi,
I have some tickets from our clients, which are in Chinese. I guess they
are using GB2312 encoding or something like that. In both notification
email and zoom view of OTRS, those contents are always displayed as
garbage no matter what encoding is applied. But I can view them by

Hello,
It would be a very nice feature to be able to configure the preference of
sending the (auto)reply, notification, including signatures and salutations, to
a customer, based on their preferred language. Maybe already an existing
feature request?
Now I think the only alternative is using
Hi all,
I've just setup OTRS on my CentOS 5 box and I want it to authenticate
the users against an active directory running on Windows 2003 Server.
I've read somewhere that you need to load Windows Services for Linux in
order to have additional UNIX options on an Active Directory user.
You do not need to have the CentOS box attached to the domain and you
will not need the Windows Services for Unix/Linux. Depending on how
your AD is setup you may need to have a user with administration
privileges that can be put into the config file to allow OTRS to search
the domain for the
Hi, all.
This is my first message to the list.
I'm testing OTRS 2.4.0 beta 1 because the release history tells that it
supports secure SMTP for outgoing mails, an excellent feature missing in
previous versions.
I want to know if this feature is working correctly because I cannot make

hi,
i am using otrs 2.2 on debian system,
i have set the parameter

means passing the wrong password as,

Yes, that looks like (part of) the (md5) encoded password as you will
find also in the database.
Which means the token works, but is not useful. I don't think that is
something easy to fix, if at all possible.
This also involves a security management.

Thanks Davin,
I've tried it again and it's still not working...
I read somewhere that the server hosting the AD must also be a Global
Catalog... do you know if this is a requirement? Was it the case on your
configuration?
Thanks
Jan
You do not need to have the CentOS box

That's honestly one that I don't know the answer to. Here's a php
script I use to make sure that I can connect and query the AD domain
controller (you will need to be sure that php-ldap is installed.:
?php
$dn = "basedn";
$attributes = array("displayname");
$filter = "(cn=*)";

Hi Santiago,
For me the Secure SMTP feature works but for one reason or another I do have
to use port 465 instead of 587 for smtp.gmail.com in order to connect with
my Google Apps for Domains mail account. If I try to use 587 I receive the
message Can't connect to smtp.gmail.com: Bad file
Hi,
Can you have one database with Customer Company and Customer ID and one
with Customer Users ?
Preferable where Customer Users gets built automagically from
incoming/outgoing tickets to/from the customer ?

Hi Arlene,
You did not specify what character set your database uses, and what
character set you have configured for OTRS for the Web interface. If your
database does not have characters for those used in the email from the
GB2312 it will use replacement characters; which will probably look as

Hallo,
