Actually, I think I got the last 6 mercury cells from Henry's :-).
About a year and a half ago, I cleaned them out. Kept a couple for
myself, and gave three or four to list members (at cost, of course).
The salesperson told me that they wouldn't be getting any more in,
claiming that

All of the K-mount, and I think most of the Screw-mount, Pentaxes have
voltage regulator circuits and you can use the alkaline equivalent batteries
just fine.

body is indeed aluminium.
I don't remember where I read it, but I remember somewhere mentioned the

Yes, probably. I already have one of those, but also with a black bottom
plate. They are easy to recognize :-) . A probably ugly chrome MX with new
black top and bottom plates. It works perfectly, and I have only payed 40
USD for it, after selling some lenses that came with it.
