I recently bought a set of 109mm filters. I think they are Kodak and made
for the aero ektars. I got red, yellow, orange, and "clear". I am wondering
if the clear is actually a UV filter.
Does anyone know of a way to test to tell UV glass from clear glass?

The only thing I can think of is for lens protection from
sand, spray, etc. The "filter" in question is factory
labelled "CLEAR". I hope it is actually UV as that would
be far more useful to me.

use a other camera or light meter at the same effective ISO and see what the
exposure should be. compare with what your camera gives. make sure that you
have turned off any exposure compensation. the fact that it looks OK on the
LCD tells me that it is properly exposed.

lens and moderately heavy with good performance, better than entry level for
sure. it's not as good as the 24-90 though. one thing i discovered yeste

I had time to look at them in PS, and compare them to pics of the same
subjects made from a little Sony P&S. John, the JPEGs from the istD that I

The 150mm is EUR 549 - which is reasonable, compared to the price of
the lenses

I am using AcDSee software. The difference in brightness is actually very
misleading. While taking an avi file, it seems to be just fine. I can even
play it on the lcd fine. The video out plays the avi fine on the tv as
well. However when transferred to the pc, its quite dark.
