K-300/4 with a different mount. I never had a problem lifting or holding
that. Now Ken's 600mm Bazooka, that would be a bit of a problem

the 'flatness'. No side-lighting for modeling, too much distance for
near-far perspective differentiation. DoF alone isn't it, although
people often like to use focus zone blurring to provide the illusion
of depth.

Just wipe it off. It's got a hardened acrylic cover on it. Mine gets
nose grease and fingerprints on it all the time. I've never covered
it, and it doesn't have a scratch on it. I wipe it off when it gets

My experience with the D suggests that the buffer behaves in a similar fashion
to what you describe hear, even though it's somewhat smaller and slower on
paper. I usually get about eight shots when I shoot at normal intervals. I
noticed this with some satisfaction when I shot the bank robber

I have been within 5 miles of it but I was with a group and it was not in

Just a quick test - write time for a DS RAW file to my s-l-o-w SD card
looks to be about five seconds. That should improve quite a bit with a 60x
or 80x card (yes, I know the camera can't use all that speed, but that's
the speed of the next card I'll be getting).

From what I understand, the Nikkor 6mm fisheye, the 13mm ultra-wide
angle,
and the 2000mm mirror lens were all custom made, after the customer placed
the order for the lens. If Nikon did some of their exotic lenses this way,
why not Pentax?

desaturated it a bit to yield a warm-toned greyscale. Other approaches may
