Don't be afraid to shoot the K-x at 6400 iso. For your first tests just shoot
it in jpg to see what you get. That is nice that you can try one.
Certainly one $500 body is way cheaper than a D700 and matching lens.

I don't dare to say that you "should", Ecke, but it is excellent

Seeing what day of the week it is: Maybe a /somewhat/ cheap
refconverter from Germany? I still have a Pentax RefCo

Steve,
That's a tough request.
You need an A series lens to get past the green button,
and right there you've spent $100+.
Most of the 100mm macro lenses are quite good,
regardless of make, but few are 'A' type.
You might try extension tubes on a 100mm lens, it's cheap.

I don't know how good that one is but new Cosina 100/3.5 AF macros
come up on eBay quite often. Over here they sell for as low as € 60 at
times. Does anyone know about this lens?

Kiron 105/2.8 (Also sold as a Lester Dine or Vivitar) is probably your
best bet for reasonably cheap and good. The Kiron and Vivitar versions
can be had as A lenses, but not usually for sub-$100. This is a case
where you're going to have to pick cheap or convenient. KA mount
macros are almost never

Next thing, ask Pentax if they'll give you a 645D for it. My

Eric and Bruce,
I never had much of a problem with the *ist Ds and continuous shooting.
My first experience was with some nesting tree swallows, and
I'd get 6 or 7 shots in a burst before the buffer filled and I had to wait.
