I was able to sneak in some photography at the beach today--didn't have

rendering. This the first chance I've had to fool around with
Lightroom 3, and I'll just say wow! Lots of new filter settings to

I'd be tempted to make a block with one face 45 degrees to another, and mount a
plate that would fit in the hot shoe. Slide the block into the hot shoe, and
set a level on the top.
One of the round ones with a bubble in the middle might be best, so the camera
is both level and and angled down

all photos at all times to be sure, but I'm not a strict traditionalist and
enjoy playing around with them. If I ever used an aged/yesteryear photo etc
filter, I'd never try to pass it off as an older photograph;

No they used to go back at least 10 years. In fact if you do a Google
search for a PDML subject you remember it will return earlier archived
results, but not through the PDML archive index. There may be a problem
