difference in pictures between the two optical formulas and that the 8

FWIW,
The easiest way to tell a true 8 element is the rear glass element
protrudes unprotected. On the later 7 element versions the rear
element glass has a metal rim protecting it.

If you want another solid camera, get a hold of a Topcon Super D. The
Nikon F was the camera of choice for all the U.S. Armed Forces except

It turns out that the way Ricoh GXR EVF is constructed - the 90 deg
swivel feature (that it also has) is in fact is Achilles heal. The
contacts become flaky...
I hope that modern swivel designs don't have this problem. At least
with Ricoh the EVF is detachable and can be replaced if necessary.

I was also thinking about the Panasonic GX-7. I noticed the eyepiece
swivels 90 degrees. That interested me more than a flip-out back lcd
panel. It's still and EVF, but I think I could get used to that as
long as it's in the eyepiece. It looks like a nice little camera that
